How does Hadoop handle Big Data?

Hadoop is an open source framework that allows the storage as well as processing of the big data in a distributed environment, that is spread across the computer clusters by the use of simple models of programming languages. It is designed in such a way that it can be scaled up to thousands of machine from a single server, each of them offering a local computation and storage.
